Roller Coaster Competition!

IE Challenge Competition

The IE Challenge is a fun, interactive game-based competition that allows you to apply components of industrial engineering as you design the facilities layout and hire the necessary personnel to keep an amusement park running efficiently. All of this is done through the use of a Roller Coaster Tycoon simulation game. Students work together in teams of 2 to design and operate a roller coaster theme park. Data is collected during game play, and a discussion of the industrial engineering concepts involved in the development and operation of the park is submitted digitally. The top teams will be invited to the University of Arkansas to compete for trophies and prize money!

Submit your team registration by the deadline, February 9, 2018, and your digital presentation by March 2, 2018, in order to qualify for the final stage of the competition which will be held at the University of Arkansas on April 7, 2018. Prizes are as follows:

1st Place – 1st place plaque, trophies for each student, and $600 ($200 for each student and their sponsor)

2nd Place – 2nd place plaque, trophies for each student, and $300 ($100 for each student and their sponsor)

3rd Place – 3rd place plaque, trophies for each student, and $150 ($50 for each student and their sponsor)
